Casting for HENRY in NEXT TO NORMAL

Include: Current Headshot, Resume, YouTube/Google Drive (ensure both are accessible to us publicly) links to two contrasting songs (as separate links), in the style of the show, that showcase your vocal and acting range. in one of the videos, please include a slate – name, age, pronouns and what draws you to this particular production.

You must be familiar with the show and the role prior to submitting your audition.

We are looking for a strong Bari-tenor, 16-22, who has significant experience singing harmonies to play the role of Henry. This production has a cast of 6 and everyone will be singing back-up and harmonies at some point. All other roles are cast. A follow-up in person call-back will be scheduled for those selected.

We strongly encourage those performers who can do significant amount of music learning on their own time. The purpose of the music rehearsals will not be to teach the music.

Rehearsals start middle of January 2025, 2 times a week, and we are looking at Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with some Mondays.Auditions for our productions are all done virtually through video submissions.

Tentative Rehearsal Schedule – please note. The schedule is restricted by the rehearsal space availability, so we ask that those auditioning for the role of Henry check their schedules and ensure they have 100% availability. We expect the individual cast as Henry to be available on these dates and times:

Music Rehearsals:
We are looking at 6-8 music rehearsals on these available times. This schedule has not yet been set, and we do have some flexibility here, but not too much. We ask that those auditioning keep these days available*:
January 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, or 31, 2025
February 1, 3, 7 or 8, 2025
*weekdays would be 6-10pm, Saturdays 6-10pm, Sundays 2-6pm or 6-10pm.
